About the Florida Panhandle

The Florida Panhandle, referred to as Northwest Florida or the Emerald Coast, is a 200 mile stretch of paradise reaching from the Alabama border to the Apalachicola River. With sugar white quartz sand and crystal clear emerald waters, the Panhandle offers a distinct experience compared to the rest of Florida. The area is often described by the phrase: “the further north you go, the further south you are.” Northwest Florida has four distinct seasons, with mild winters and refreshing coastal breezes. The region is home to globally rare coastal dune lakes in South Walton and 30A, as well as Florida’s highest waterfall at Falling Waters State Park.
