Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the best place to stay in Florida for your first visit?

For first timers, we recommend either Orlando if you are planning on visiting the theme parks, or South Florida (Miami or Fort Lauderdale). Choose Miami if you want more of a ‘scene’, choose Fort Lauderdale if you want more of a chill beach vibe. These cities give you a strong, classic introduction to what makes Florida special.

Where is the best place to stay in Florida with kids?

Orlando tends to be the go-to spot for families, however there are destinations across the state that cater to families. Fort Lauderdale on the east coast is a top choice for exploring the Everglades, which is fun and educational. Clearwater on the west coast is a great spot with snorkeling and beach excursions available.

Where is the best place to stay in Florida on the beach?

The Florida coastline is lined with beaches, and the ‘best beach’ is up for debate. If you want white sand, turquoise waters and places to look for shells, we recommend Marco Island or Sanibel Island. If you want beach and city vibes together, stay in Miami Beach (Mid-Beach is our favorite!).

When is the cheapest time to find Florida accommodations?

Late August through mid November (excluding holidays) and May through early June tend to offer the best rates statewide. These times (mostly) avoid hurricane season and the high humidity during the summer. Unless you’re traveling for spring break (usually March, but varies by state), avoid it! Christmas and New Year, rates are higher since so many people try to escape the cold.
